Like an angel
touching the earth
for the last time
She left us without saying goodbye
She always smiling
She has a pure heart
She is always so caring
Intelligent, studious, and smart!
Her life on earth might be short
But not the memories she left us
The joys she brought to our families

Dearest Catherine,
It is tough for most of us on this day when we remember what happened one year ago when you left all of us so suddenly…. but instead of mourning you or letting the negative feelings to occupy my mind, I want to share with you the great stories of how you have lifted all of our spirit and guided us into doing something that impacted hundreds of children’s life in the past year we were departed from you….
Catherine, you unconditional love and your compassion have inspired hundreds of people, being your family or not, to be involved, to give and to help thousands of children in Vietnam, hundreds of families in need as close as the Toronto communities where you grew up and as remote as the Haiti families who suffered natural disasters… It is only one year on this journey, but we already felt that your departure actually has a much deeper meaning than what it appears to be… Thank you Catherine, for your 16 beautiful years on earth to bring happiness, love and caring to your loved ones and your family… Aunty remembers vividly all the great memories with you and will cherish those in years to come.. but I also know that you are smiling at all of us today from above and you should be very pleased to see all the great work that have been done, and on the process of being done this coming year to continue to spread your love to the most remote areas in Vietnam, our motherland, and around the world.
We all had a great banquet celebrating you and celebrating the success of Catherine Tran Charity Fund in late September this year. Your parents have done a tremendous job pulling the whole families and friends to put together a wonderful event: Catherine Tran Charity Fund Banquet. It was a huge success and it helped to celebrate all the wonderful impacts you have helped to create.
Catherine, on this day, I want to thank you and to remember in all the great things you have done when you’re still with us and all those wonderful things that were accomplished on your behalf since you left because we were all inspired by your compassion and your love. We will continue to fullfill your wish Catherine and I look forward to several wonderful things, projects that will be created because of YOU!
May you rest in Peace and knowing that you are loved so much, missed so much, and cherished so much…. You will continue to live in all of our hearts in years to come. Thank you for being an inspiration to us all, dearest Catherine.
